Governor Selimović's meeting with the deans of economic faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina 9/27/2024 Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jasmina Selimović, Ph.D. held the meeting, in Sarajevo, with the deans/deanesses of public economic faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the directors of the entities' Banking Agencies in order to consider the possibilities of cooperation and realization of joint activities in the field of financial education, which would improve the level of education and useful skills of young people in Bosnia. and Herzegovina. Aware of the need for financial education and inclusion, and bearing in mind the fact that the financial literacy of each individual contributes to financial stability as a whole, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina has set the strengthening of financial education and inclusion as one of its strategic goals. The meeting was the opportunity to launch an initiative and give proposals and ideas for cooperation between the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, entities' Banking Agencies and economic faculties in BH in order to improve the financial education and raise financial literacy to a higher level. The cooperation of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina with educational institutions and regulators in Bosnia and Herzegovina is extremely important and can bring significant benefits to the entire society, it was pointed out during the meeting. The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina activities so far done in relation to to the financial education were presented at the meeting, both with primary and secondary school students throughout the country, as well as with students of higher education institutions, primarily economic faculties, where the curriculum includes the central banking, too. The participants of the meeting agree that with regard to the financial awareness of different categories of population, the synergy of everyone, from regulators, financial institutions to faculties, is necessary, and they are open to cooperation and joint projects and activities. In the following period, the framework and method of cooperation in the field of financial education will be defined. The meeting was attended by the deans of public economic faculties in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica, Mostar and Bihać, as well as the directors of the Banking Agencies of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska, Jasmin Mahmuzić and Srđan Šuput.
