CBBH and SOS Children's Villages of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

Today on September 24, 2024, Ph.D. Jasmina Selimović, Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) and Mr. Malik Garibija, National Director of SOS - KINDERDORF International, representative office in Sarajevo (SOS Children's Villages of Bosnia and Herzegovina), signed the Memorandum of cooperation on financial education and inclusion.

The Memorandum defines the cooperation between the CBBH and the SOS Children's Villages of Bosnia and Herzegovina in conducting educational activities in the areas of financial literacy for children, young people and parents from the care and support of the Children's Villages of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The CBBH, in cooperation with SOS Children’s Villages in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will work on increasing the capacities of young people with skills necessary in the preparation for labour market, and implement programmes and activities for young people with purpose of their strengthening, motivation and independence through internships, mentorships, workshops, visits of the CBBH and other forms of work focused on improving development and personal and professional competences, with a special focus on financial literacy.

As a socially responsible institution, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina is proud of this cooperation which is aimed at helping young people in their social and economic development through education on finance.

The elementary school and high school children from SOS Children’s Villages in Bosnia and Herzegovina have already visited the CBBH before, learning of the significance of savings, personal finance management, history of currency, convertible mark and the role of the CBBH in the process of issuing banknotes and coins.
