Marking the Global Money Week in the CBBH

Global Money Week is marked this year from 20 to 26 March under the slogan “Plan your money, plant your future“, with the aim of raising awareness of the significance of the adoption of responsible and focused approach to making financial decisions. This year's theme also recognises that future financial welfare of an individual is connected with the health of the planet and society on the whole.

The same as in several recent years, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), through its activities, has joined the marking of Global Money Week by organising financial education, with the support of the European Fund for Southeast Europe – Development Facility (EFSE DF) . On this occasion, professors and pupils ofJU Srednja poslovno-komercijalna i trgovačka škola (PI Business-Commercial and Trade High School) and Srednja ekonomske škola (High School of Economics) from Sarajevo, having finished education in the CBBH within the pilot project „Train the trainer“ held a presentation „Skills of managing personal finance“, and presentation on financial services and products, to professors and pupils JU Srednja ugostiteljska škola (PI High School for Catering Business“) from Sarajevo and Srednjoškolski centar Vogošća (High School Vogošća).The implementation of the „Train the trainer“ project continued within Srednja poslovno-komercijalna i trgovačka škola (Business-Commercial and Trade High School) and Srednja ekonomska škola (High School of Economics), and also other included high schools. In this way, at the initiative of the CBBH and with the support of the EFSE - DF, the importance of financial education and inclusion, especially of young people in BH, is promoted, trying to treat various issues which are important for financial literacy in a creative, competent and simple way. The importance of this project is also seen in the fact that pupils, who, with the help of their professors, finished the training, are now training their school-fellows so financial education continues within schools.

„Train the trainer“ project started in high schools in Sarajevo, and is expanded to other cities in BH, and is implemented through main units and branches of the CBBH. Recently, JU Ekonomska škola Brčko (PI High School of Economics Brčko) and JU Ekonomska škola Banjaluka (PI High School of Economics Banja Luka) have been included in the project.

Ombudsman for banking services in the Banking Agency of the Federation of BH Lejla Smajović was also present at the education and marking of the Global Money Week in the CBBH premises in Sarajevo.

The Central Bank of Bosna and Herzegovina was also visited by students of the Academy for young leaders of Schuler Helfeb LebenFoundation who attended the presentation on the CBBH, its authorities and basic functions.
