World Savings' Day 2020

10/30/2020

On the occasion of the World Savings Day, celebrated every year on October 31, this year, too, wishing to continue the practice of marking it through educational activities, and having in mind the specific conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) organized the education for pupils and students adapted to the current situation.

More specifically, this year, the CBBH organized a webcast on the YouTube channel aimed to educate young people and to promote the importance of financial literacy and financial involvement of citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thus, the CBBH published, today, a webcast on the YouTube channel with a welcome address by the Governor Senad Softić, Ph.D., on the occasion of the World Savings Day, a presentation on the CBBH - the role, functions and importance of the CBBH, and the lecture on the skills of responsible personal finance management.

The invitation to visit the webcast was accepted by high schools throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in order to ensure interaction with the audience, members of the CBBH Financial Education Team were available to answer all questions in the field of financial education and the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, via Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter account of the CBBH.

This, somewhat differently organized form of marking the World Savings Day, is an integral part of financial education conducted by the CBBH in recent years with the aim of strengthening financial inclusion in the way of responsible financial management for the benefit of economic development and growth of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

All activities are implemented within the project Promotion of Financial Education and Inclusion implemented by the CBBH with the support of the European Fund for Southeast Europe - Development Facility (EFSE DF).
